“We have a very vibrant port with a lot of developments going on. The first one of interest to you is what we call stage three, which includes the ocean front land from the roundabout up to the Burnett Creek. Stage 3 is nearly now completed and it will be a freehold block of land to be sold off, through the new town planning scheme. What the Port wants to do is jointly master plan with the developers so they end up with a development that meets community expectations. Part of this development includes a bridge connecting the Port to Burnett Heads. The Bridge is an important part of the development, the deputy prime minister gave a grant of $1,000,000 towards this. The developers have all said that the connection to the Harbour Esplanade is an integral part of their development to create connectivity with Burnett Head, as the site will be developed as Residential Tourism, which will bring a lot of industry and jobs to the area.” Other industries:- “As we all know the Sea Scallop factory is going ahead, that will bring 1500 jobs, they have now finished their building and want their internal fit out. they now want their water by the end of this month, this includes a huge pipe and pump station. The gentleman doing South Head Parklands which are the new foreshore park and football fields, is the same designer for the Pump station landscaping again so that we have continuity with Burnett Heads.” “Currently we are Negotiating with a lot of companies. One of these includes Queensland and Industrial Minerals, who have a mine between Gympie and Biggeden. Currently there is a memorandum of understanding. What does this actually mean - a vessel coming in and out of the port every 2 days, they would also include $600 million in value adding and provide 100’s of jobs, and 9 Hectares of sheds to store the minerals. Site is down from the Sailing Club, they would then bring the minerals up to the Port and export from there. These would bring the wharf up to 75% usage. The roof space would be used to harvest water to do landscaping. And then there is also the Crab industry soft shell, which would produce at least another 100 job. I believe that we have a vibrant port and are doing some really exciting things, I believe we have a wonderful future in this area” Click to contact us about land at the Bundaberg Port and Burnett Heads Home | List with Us | Childers Shining | Contact Us | Kookaburra Park | Map | Gin Gin |
